B1G is BEST: WHY and HOW the Big Ten Became the Premier Conference in College Sports

On fall Saturdays, the center of gravity in college sports has quietly shifted north. What was once a regional power structure dominated by Southern tradition has given way to something far more expansive, an empire built on reach, resources, and relentless scale. The Big Ten isn’t just winning games; it’s redefining the playing field itself, stretching from coast to coast, commanding the richest media deals in history, and pulling elite talent from every corner of the country. This isn’t a momentary surge, it’s a structural takeover. And if you follow the money, the map, and the momentum, one thing becomes clear: The Big Ten didn’t stumble into dominance… it engineered it. College football recruiting isn’t just about NIL or brand power—it’s about geography, structure, education and strategy. I started doing some deep digging BEYOND the money, and what I found was pretty surprising.  So here’s what the 2026 data actually shows... FULL 2026 CLASS (All recruits) S...

The Standard Shattered: Penn State Players Expose What Really Happened in 2025

I want to begin by acknowledging that this story will be divisive. As a society—and as sports fans—we are increasingly fractured, our beliefs often entrenched and immovable. Uncomfortable truths tend to provoke emotional responses, and whatever reactions this story generates are part of the responsibility that comes with telling it. As I was finalizing this report and working to verify a few remaining details, I published an initial announcement on Sunday night, January 16. Shortly thereafter, a second individual connected to the program reached out, offering additional information and the possibility of corroboration. Given the gravity of the subject matter, I believed the delay was necessary to ensure accuracy. The information presented below has been corroborated by two separate individuals inside the Penn State football program. Before diving in, however, there is one narrative that must be addressed: the “it doesn’t matter” perspective. For 12 years, the fans and the surrounding c...

When Winning Costs Everything: College Football’s NIL Paradox

College football is out of control. Yes, there’s more parity than ever. More teams. New teams. Real competition at the top. But there’s also more destruction. More fraud. More unethical behavior. And it’s ruining the sport overall. Below are the biggest issues currently plaguing college football, along with clear, common-sense steps that could create fairness and limit the damage being done to the best sport in the country. 1️⃣ Limits on “Poaching” The Matt Campbell hire made me realize just how ridiculous college football has become — in a different way. I’m happy with the hire, but there’s absolutely no way Penn State should have been able to ransack Iowa State for 24 players. Plan: When a coach switches schools, he can offer a maximum of 10 players from his previous program. That’s it. This allows a coach to help build a foundation at the new school while preventing the complete destruction of the old one. 2️⃣ A Real “Contact Process” Players should absolutely have the right to chan...

Penn State 2025 Game-by-Game Predictions

Penn State enters the 2025 season ranked #2, led by a top-5 quarterback in Drew Allar, a dominant defense featuring Dani Dennis-Sutton and Zane Durant, and a reloaded wide receiver corps. With national title aspirations and sky-high expectations in Happy Valley, here’s a detailed game-by-game breakdown with matchups, context, and projected final scores. 🏈 Penn State 2025 Game-by-Game Predictions🏈 Week 1: vs. Nevada — Beaver Stadium   Prediction: PSU wins 49–7 - Nevada is rebuilding under Jeff Choate and lacks the firepower to challenge PSU’s defense.   - Expect Allar to get comfortable early, and the run game to dominate.   - PSU’s front seven will feast on a shaky Nevada O-line. - The young Penn State linebackers will be tested with a dual-threat heavy run option quarterback system.  --- Week 2: vs. FIU — Beaver Stadium   Prediction: PSU wins 45–10 - FIU ranks near the bottom nationally in run defense.   - Kaytron Allen and...

Is Penn State Ranked Too High?

The first Top 25 AP Poll is out.  Is Penn State Ranked Too High? Penn State opens the 2025 season ranked No. 2 in the AP poll, trailing only Texas and ahead of heavyweights like Georgia, Ohio State, and Clemson. After a 13-3 season and a dominant rushing attack, the ranking reflects rising national belief — and it might be more justified than some think. Why the Ranking Might Be Justified - **Elite Backfield**: Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton return after combining for over 2,300 yards, forming one of the most feared rushing duos in college football. - **Revamped Receiver Room**: Penn State aggressively upgraded its wide receiver corps through the transfer portal, adding speed and experience to complement its ground game and stretch defenses vertically. - **Drew Allar’s Potential**: The former five-star quarterback has the tools to be elite — and if he puts it all together, he’s projected as a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. That kind of upside gives...

Pitt Fandoms Misdirected Anger

Pitt has won nine national football championships—the most of any major college program in the East and the sixth-highest total ever. A rich and historied school with many NFL Hall of Famers. From 1979-1982, Pitt went 11-1 three consecutive times with Quarterback Dan Marino at the helm. Amazing. Marino's records still stand today. That time period was the last time Pitt football was relevant. In the 41 years since Dan Marino played in Pittsburgh, the Pitt Panthers have had two...TWO seasons of double digit wins.  2009: 10 wins 2021: 11 wins The Pitt Panthers have averaged 6.1 wins and 5.7 losses per season for 41 years. Fast forward to a decade ago. Pat Narduzzi arrives as Head Coach after leading a top defensive unit multiple years at Michigan State under HC Mark Dantonio, winning the Big Ten title in 2013.  Pitt Football under Pat Narduzzi (2014): 7-5 avg season 2-6 bowl record Avg recruiting rank of 47th overall 2021 ACC Title 11-3 finished #12 highest ranking under Narduzz...

The "Little" Guys

Today is a special day that will live in college football infamy. It's 2007: First iphone unveiled. Google introduces Android. Appalachian State Beats #5 Michigan in Ann Arbor.     This was to be another blowout. Another lopsided FBS school rolling over an FCS school.      So confident were Las Vegas sportsbooks in Michigan's chances that no betting line was issued for the game. The game was also the first to be broadcast on the then-new Big Ten Network.  And then, Appalachian State won.      On September 1st, 2007 Appalachian State became the first FCS team EVER to defeat a ranked FBS team, and as a result of that game Michigan dropped out of the top 25 of the AP Poll entirely, marking the first time a team had fallen from the top five to out of the poll entirely as the result of a single game. In the aftermath of the game, the Associated Press amended its polling policy to make FCS teams eligible for the AP Poll, which had previously been l...
